a new way to study...
The theoretical classes are held mainly before noon. It is a 90 minute class
which is finished with a break - You can have coffee and a bite to eat provided
by the school for a small contribution.
The afternoons are set aside for arts-handcrafts and physical activities.
There are some fixed lessons before and after lunch which are for language and math.
You get to try different ways of presenting your progress. For example by writing reports and giving a presentation. We put a lot of emphasis on teaching you to make your own conclusions and thinking.
Studying
You will be studying the different subjects in periods of three to four weeks. Some subjects, for example literary history, history and biology return more than once a year.
Demanding studies and personal contact
The contact between teacher and student is informal and everyone is treated
as an individual. We have lunch together and in the morning break you can
sit together in the café.
Studying the Waldorf program demands you to be engaged and for you to participate fully. In return we promise to give you a list of opportunity for you to develop your creative ability and to mature as a person.
an international
curriculum...
The Waldorf pedagogy is a steadily growing international educational movement.
At present there are waldorf schools in 56 different countries.
The curriculum in these schools are based upon general guidelines about development and maturity. The content can be said to be human and universal.
When the need arises, waldorf school in different countries adapt their curriculum to the culture and educational goals of the nation. The Swedish waldorf schools for instance, have done this.
The international character of the curriculum means that your studies will be compatible with those made at foreign waldorf schools.
the students forum...
Student influence at school
Since a few years back a Student forum is held at Waldorfgymnasiet
once a week. The purpose of having such forum is to give the students the
possibility to be part in most decision-making at school and to have a lesson
once a week where you can discuss topics that concern the students at our
gymnasium.
The weekly meetings are held by students from the appointed student council. The council's main assignment is to create the link between the rest of the students and the teachers.
»The Student forum may be about anything whatsoever
but all that occurs in the forum is due to a request from the students.
During the years we've had this forum we've done a bunch of things; for
example we've watched film and documentaries, discussed different topics
such as feminism, homosexuality, crime and drug abuse and and sometimes
we have invited a lecturer that talks about something that interests us.«

you can be proud of.
This document which shows you have reached all the criteria will allow you to study in further or higher education.
